Day 14. Describe an event that changed your life forever, or make up and describe an event that would change your life forever (1)
One day I was sitting in
my office doing the work of a regular office worker and suddenly something
struck me. I asked myself the questions “What am I doing with my life? Is this
really how I want it to be – excel sheets all day and then TV until nighttime?”
I stood up from my chair and left my cubicle. I was in a giant room full of the
exact same cubicles as mine. Everybody was clicking on their computers – some
of them were working, others were slacking off. And then I looked through the
window – yeah, there really was a window in the room, a tiny little window that
was letting a little bit of light. And then I saw another person staring at the
sky that was shining from the window. She was at the cubicle exactly beneath
the window. Her eyes met mine and immediately knew that she felt like me. I
didn't really introduce myself and I didn't even say hello. I grabbed her hand
and headed for the elevator. I didn't feel the slightest bit of resistance. I
even felt like she was pushing me. At the exit we saw our boss talking at his
phone. He tried to stand in our way so that he could question us in a minute
when his phone call would have ended but we quickly sidestepped and ended up on
the street. It was a wonderful day outside.
